Authorities Arrest Almost 700 During the July Holiday Week in Los Angeles County

July 6, 2012 – According to reports, authorities have arrested almost 700 drivers throughout Los Angeles County, California during the July 4th holiday week.
According to the California Highway Patrol the campaign to stop drinking and driving has resulted in 658 DUI related arrests in Los Angeles County between Friday and Wednesday.

Authorities say that this number is down from the same period during the July 4th holiday week in 2011, when there were 836 DUI related arrests. According to the California Highway Patrol officials, the fact that this holiday fell in the middle of the week, the numbers will change as the campaign to stop driving under the influence will continue through midnight Saturday.
